Nutrition and Behaviour
Good nutrition is the foundation of long-term health, supporting everything from growth and energy levels to weight management and disease prevention. At Vet in the City, we provide tailored guidance to ensure your pet’s diet and wellbeing are optimised at every stage of life.

Nutrition plays a vital role in your pet’s overall health and well-being. From supporting healthy growth in young animals to maintaining optimal weight and managing age-related conditions, the right diet can have a significant impact on quality of life.
At Vet in the City, we offer personalised nutritional guidance based on your pet’s age, breed, lifestyle, and any underlying health considerations. As your pet’s needs evolve over time, we are here to help you make informed decisions about their diet at every stage.
Ongoing support through routine health checks
Provided your pet is following a standard schedule of vaccinations and health checks, they will be assessed by a veterinary professional at least twice a year.
These appointments are an opportunity to monitor your pet’s overall health and well-being, including:
-
Diet and nutritional intake
-
Weight management
-
Body condition scoring
-
Early identification of any emerging health concerns
Our vets and registered veterinary nurses (RVNs) will offer practical, tailored advice to help keep your pet in optimal condition, making small adjustments where needed to support long-term health.
Behavioural Guidance
While we are not specialist behaviourists, our team has extensive experience handling and caring for dogs and cats in a clinical setting. If you have any concerns about your pet’s behaviour, we encourage you to speak to us. Changes in behaviour can sometimes be linked to underlying medical conditions, and our first priority is always to rule out or treat any health-related cause.
If no medical issue is identified, we can provide initial guidance and practical advice on managing common behavioural concerns. Where appropriate, we can also recommend trusted behaviour specialists for more complex cases.
