Terms and conditions for animal health certificate
Provision of Care
-
All animals seen for an animal health certificate must be under the care of a veterinary surgeon already. They remain your primary veterinary surgeon should any medical problems arise whilst paperwork is being collated. Any medical assistance needed during this period must be obtained from your regular veterinary practice.
-
All vaccines and medications carry some risk, which will be discussed at your appointment. Any medical emergencies requiring treatment as a result of vaccinations, microchipping or drugs used to complete export and import paperwork will need to be directed to your usual veterinarian. Vet In The City is not liable for any loss, damages or costs associated with an immunological or other complication that develops in an individual animal as a result of these treatments.
Fees
-
Fees are payable before delivery of the certificate. Payment can be made via bank transfer.
-
Fees are incurred as soon as the certification process is started and our services have been engaged. Delays in payment may result in an additional express surchage being charged.
-
Should an account not be settled, a reminder will be sent out. Further reminders may incur administration charges. After due notice, unpaid fees will be referred to a debt collection agency and further charges, such as the production of reports, court fees and phone calls will be levied in respect of costs incurred in collecting the debt.
Privacy and data Protection
-
Vet In The City may need access to your medical record in order to process parts of the certificate. You will need to give your own veterinary surgeon permission to share this information under data protection laws if required.
-
Your information may need to be shared with third parties, including (but not limited to) your own veterinary surgeon, APHA and other government agencies and laboratories processing samples. Your information will not be used for marketing purposes.
Paperwork
-
The onus is on you as an owner to obtain the correct export paperwork needed for travel. Vet In The City can help and advise, but this is either your responsibility or that of the pet courier company you engage. Vet In The City will complete the paperwork provided, but is not liable for any loss, damages or costs should you provide incorrect or incomplete paperwork or information. Countries change their requirements at short notice, ensuring your paperwork meets the most up to date requirements is your responsibility. Any additional visits needed to rectify paperwork changes are not included in the initial cost of certification.
-
Vet In The City is not liable for any loss, damages or costs that may be incurred should your travel plans change, or your transport provider alters travel tickets in such a way that more paperwork is needed. For example, changes in a ferry crossing time table that mean your window for tapeworm treatment is exceeded or insufficient.
-
Animals sometimes fail blood sampling requirements, blood samples can be lost or damaged in the post, postal delays mean results can sometimes not be back in time for certificate completion. Vet In The City is not liable for any loss, damages or costs should certification be impossible due to lost, delayed, damaged or failed samples. Any costs for further visits to repeat sampling and processing to meet certificate requirements are not included in the initial cost of certificate completion.
-
Some countries require certification just prior to travel and require certification that your pet is free of ticks and fleas. Vet In The City would advise that your parasite control is strict in the lead up to travel- spray your home, treat all pets if needed. Vet In The City is not liable for any loss, damages or costs incurred by travel delays or the costs of revisiting to complete the certificate should parasites be found during this final examination.
